Terms of Use

UMak BookIt · University of Makati School of Law Library · Effective October 21, 2026

These terms apply to UMak BookIt, the discussion room reservation system of the University of Makati (UMak) School of Law (SOL) Library, on the web and in the optional Android app. By signing in and making a reservation you agree to them and to the library's room guidelines.

1. Eligibility and accounts

  • The discussion rooms are for bona fide SOL students, faculty, administration and employees of the University.
  • Sign in with your own Google account; please use your @umak.edu.ph UMak account when you have one. Do not reserve under someone else's account.
  • Information you enter (student number, name, group size, purpose) must be accurate.

2. Reservations

  • Reservations are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis and are confirmed instantly, subject to room availability, room hours, closures and library events.
  • Each reservation is limited to 2 hours. An additional hour may be granted by the librarian if there is no incoming reservation.
  • Please arrive on time. The librarian-in-charge may cancel a reservation if the group does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled start.
  • If you no longer need a room, cancel your reservation under My reservations so others can use it.
  • Time limits and other rules may be adjusted by the library; the current rules are shown on the reservation page.

3. Using the room

  • Get the Discussion Room key from the Reference / Circulation Desk and return the key immediately after opening the door.
  • Keep discussions at a minimal voice level and observe proper library decorum.
  • Leave the room clean and orderly for the next users, and vacate it when your time ends.

4. Library authority

The librarian-in-charge may cancel, shorten or move a reservation when needed (for example no-shows, library events, closures or room issues). Misuse of the system or the rooms, including false information, repeated no-shows or violations of library rules, may result in loss of reservation privileges and may be referred under University policies.

5. Availability

We try to keep UMak BookIt available and accurate, but the service is provided as is and may occasionally be unavailable. If the system is down, please ask at the Reference / Circulation Desk.

6. Privacy

How your information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Contact and changes

Questions about these terms can be directed to the UMak School of Law Library Reference / Circulation Desk. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
